Chicago where they visited the Sears Tower, then on to South Dakota where they visited the Badlands National Park in Wall and Mt. Rushmore in Keystone.

Six days and nights were spent in the Scout National Center West at Ten Sleep, Wy„ one of three centers owned and operated by the Girl Scouts of the U. S. A. Here they camped out in tents, prepared their own meals and learned to deal with the dust storms along with girls from Illinois, Pennsylvania and Mexico.

Day activities included horse-back riding, pioneer crafts, gold panning, hiking, backpacking, or activities exploring geology, archaeology and the natural sciences.

On the return trip from Wyoming, the group stopped at Yellowstone Park to see Old Faithful, took a raft trip down the Snake River at Jackson, Wy. and visited Temple Square and the Great Salt Lake at Salt Lake City, Utah.
