The Rappahannock Planning Commission met Wednesday. August 19, to hold a public hearing on the application of J. J. Dwyer for the establishment of an agricultural and forestal district. Dwyer’s application included two other applications from adjoining landowners (called ‘tag-ons’).
The total district, with the tag-ons submitted by Phil Irwin and Linda Dietel, would include 1285.7 acres. The Commission asked for public remarks on the application and Pat Saltonstall appeared to request that two pieces of property that she owned be added to the Dwyer application.
Planning Commissioner Werner Krebser, who had checked on the language of the regulations governing application for agricultural and forestal districts, said that Mrs. Saltonstall would have had to apply during the thirty-day period set as the limit for adding property to an advertised application. “It's unfortunate that the
