Powhatan Red Cross Drive Opens With Workers’ Conference The Powhatan 1953 Red Cross Fund campaign was opened of ficially by T. Cl. West, fund chair- ' man, when he presided at dinner ! for Red Cross workers February ; 16. at 6 p. m , in the high school cafeteria. Mr. West thanked his co workers for helpme to make the 1952 campaign a success in which Powhatan exceeded its quota ana asked workers to strive for that same goal for 1953 He reminded his workers to ask people "to help their fellow man through the Red Cross” instead of asking people "to give to the Red Cross.” Mr West introduced his guest. Julian Brooks. Red Cross Field Representative, who gave an in spiring talk on the work carried on by the Ri d Cross J B Carter, chairman of the Powhatan Red Cross Chapter, made an enthusi astic talk.
