Miss Gaynelle Smith, of New port News, spent last week with her sister. Mrs. Vance Gunter. Mr. and Mrs. Gunter and family carried Miss Smith home, Sun day. Feb. 8. The Young Adult Group of the Presbyterian Churches in the county met at the Mattoax Com munity House. Saturday night. Woman's Missionaiy Society of Piedmont Baptist Church held its February meeting in the home of W. J. Morris, with Mrs. Lydia Thompson as hostess assisted by Mrs. W. J. Morris and Miss Louise Morris. The program in Royal Service was "Winning The Mormons To the Right Way," and it was given by ihe program chairman. Mrs. J L. White, with discussion by the members. , A committee was appointed to plan the program for the Season of Prayer for Home Missions, which is coming up in March. Also a committee was appointed to plan the supper for the Ruritan Club in March. The hostess served delicious refreshments at the close of the meeting. Mrs. B F. Hyde, oi Richmond, spent the week enu with her daughter. Mrs. Ralph Saunders. Mr. and Mrs. J E. Dodson were Sunday afternoon callers in the home of Mrs. Blanche Greza Lewis. A Richard Stevens, the student pastor, who is preaching at Pied mont and Union Churches, was a luncehon guest in tlie home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Saunders. Miss Esther and Alma Whittington were also guests in tne Saunders
