It might be that a suit able penalty for reckless driving, under the influence, which takes a life, should in clude a bar from possession of a driver s license for a number of years — if and when the court’s punishment is served. And, while we do not favor the death penalty for accidents, even if they are the result of negligence or driving under the infulence, the taking of other lives on the highways, because of excesses by the driv er, is perhaps as reprehensible as killing another person in a fit of rage in any un premeditated manner. And since one’s conscience is a harder judge than the courts, thought along this line is certainly in order.
