Planting of soring crops moved forward rapidly during the week end'mf April 26. Warm temperatures stimulated growth of vegetation but by the end of the week soils w> re becoming dry in many sections. Some land needs rain before it can be prepared for planting. Rainfall during the week was mostly in the form of thunder showers and varied widely between stations.
