Powhatan Mews A large crowd attended Easter services at May Memorial Baptist church, and the building fund of fering was approximately SHOO, which added to contributions to the fund since homecoming last fall, will net approximately $2300. The church hopes to retire its debt at homecoming in October of this year, and will . !.en be ready to make plans for the con struction of its auditorium Mrs. W. R. Parker. Mrs. E. W. Messenger. Sam W and W. R. Parker, of the Bank of Powhatan. Mrs. E. H. Vassar. Mrs. H. G. At kinson. Jr., and Max B. Harlan. Jr., of the Cumberland County Bank, attended the April uoup meeting of the Southside Clearing house at Crewe April 22. A panel discussion of interest rates cre ated a lot of interest. Members composing the panel were: J. G. Dickerson, of Amelia: E. Waller Sanford, of First National Bank in Farmville; Ed Sheffield, Jf Bank of Crewe, and W. R. Parker, of Powhatan. Mr. and Mrs. Chester T. Wal ters. and daughter, of Tennessee are returning to the Wigwam in nearby Amelia county. They are purchasing the farm from Mr. Harrison in Richmond.
