Lieut. DeBergh To Report
To Guam
Lieut. James Van Lowen DeBergh, has received orders to report to Guam, Marianas Islands, as executive officer on the WAGL Ironwood. Lieut. DeBergh first went to the Pacific in 1942 on the USS Haida and spent 14 months on escort duty in the Alaskan waters. After the invasion of Kiska Island he was assigned as gunnery officer to the USS El Paso, which participated in the invasions of New Guinea and the Philippine Islands. Later he was on the General J. S. Breckenridge, which ; transported troops from Europe to the South Pacific. .
Li«ut. DeBergh expects to he followed by his family in midwinter if possible.

The R. G. Quaintan.ce estate was sold the past week to Earl B. Combs of Washington, D.C.
This property, known as "Mountain View,” is considered one of the better farms in Rappahannock county, it has between 970 and 1000 acres. The house is of frame construction. The property is 11 miles southwest of Woodville and adjoins the Jim Miller place, Daniel Coughlin, and the J. G. Brown estate on the West; Mrs. Holmes Hall farm on the North and the old Gum Browning place on the East The property was sold privately.
