County News Notes
Mrs. George Davis, Mrs. Lewis Turner and Mrs. T. C. Lea were visitors in Winchester Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Snead had as their luncheon guest Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Groseclose of Washington, D.C., and “Trianon"* • of Rappahannock County.
Mr. and Mrs. William Moffett were' visitors in Lexington and Roanoke over the week end.

Mrs. Jaenie Jarvis spent the week end with friends in Clifton Forge. Mrs. Menefee and her grandson Frank Jarvis were weekend guests in Culpeper.
Mrs. Mamie Berger, John Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith of Washington, D.C., were overnight guests Friday of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Brown.
Mrs. Dudley Wood, who has been visiting her daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Smith at North Garden, returned home Thursday with Mrs. Brue Wood and Mrs. Charles Wood who had motored down to bring her home.

Many house plants were on display. Mrs. Hite’s pink flowering begonia took the lead in its claqp. The African violets lost all their modesty for they had a right -to be proud of themselves. ~~~ ^ A sweet gartffeh" with gay flowers blooming and a moon flower white with bloom had'been made on the stage. An attractive paling fence enclosed the garden. A girl with a watering pot, is ready to sprinkle the flowers and even the grass, but the boy is leaving the gate.
The sweepstakes prize, given to the winner of the greatest number of points, goes to Mrs. Grover Revercomb of Peola Mills. It is the gift of Mrs. Sealock to the flower show and was painted by Mrs. Lucio Kilby.
Very youthful is our garden club—-a year and four months it —eouhtS"4ts-age. In beauty, in order,Jin execution, their First Flower Show shines forth in glory evfen when keeping company with its older sisters.
