Four hundred ninety-one Feeder Calves sold at Orange Tuesday for an average of approximately $34 per hundred. Highlights of the sale Included a pen of eight choice Hereford heifers and a pen of good Hereford steers, each sold for $36.75 to top the sale. Generally, throughout the sale, heifers brought the same to 1%-cents lower than steers of the same breed and grade. Most of the buyers were Virginia farmers. ¥ The weeding committee for the Rappahannock Angus Breeders Feeder Calf sale to be held Tuesday, October 17, 2 p.m. at Front Royal Livestock Market, have approved a total of 626 calves consigned by 29 breeders.
Teh Rappahannock Hereford breeders have had 235 head approved for the Northern Virginia ~ Feeder Calf *Sale to be hefi ir Winchester, October 13.
Quality of all calves is good and they are expected to grade better ‘than in past years.
