Mrs. Noah Mahoney
Injured in Auto Accident
Mrs. Noah Mahoney is in Front Royal hospital, following: an auto accident Sunday morning about 0 o’clock when the '/Mahoney car was struck by a skidding car on the bridge just north of the residence of Mrs. W. P. Slaughter, near Huntly.
Mr. and Mm. Noah Mahoney and their two children, ages 9 months and 2 years, were riding in their car, a Plymouth sedan, when a Chevrolet auto, driven by Mrs. Malborne of Norfolk, skidded on the wet pavement and drove broadside into the Mahoney car. The Mahoney auto was thrown into the side railing of the bridge with such force that if took out one of the concrete bars of the rail.
Mrs. Mahoney^ ~ head ’ went ^through the windshield and she suffered possible concussion and severe lacerations about the face and neck. She had not regaine4 consciousness ryesterday, and her condition is listed as serious.
The 9-months-old infant, riding •v. in Mr8‘ Mahopey’a lap, had a small scratch on the left hand, and the 2-year-old child, who was riding on the front seat between the mother and father, was uninjured. Mr. Mahoney suffered injuries of the knee and a wrenched back. The Mahoneys live on the Chester Gap road near Huntly.
Mr. Malborne, in the Norfolk car, suffered back injuries, and his wife, who was driving, was uninjured except for a scratched knee.
Trooper W. A. Buntin was at the scene of the accident in about 20 minutes and the ambulance from Washington arrived about ten minutes later to take Mrs. Mahoney to the Front Royal hospital-.'
