Miss Mary Helen Menefee spent the week end with her parents at “Piedmont,” Miss Eliiabeth Menefee will arrive Saturday for a stay at “Piedmont,” “Mother" Crimm and sons Jake and John were Sunday visitors at the home of Col. O’Bannon. “Mother” Crimm is now in her 94th year. „ * Mr. and Mrs. Paul Walker are building a new tea room on the lot adjoining the Merrill Motor Co. Mrs. John Snead left this week for a business trip to Florida. * * * October 23, 1913 “Gabriel,” Sheriff Miller's famous old mule, is dead. Mrs. Daisy Partlow and children and Mrs. D. C. Updike and children spent Saturday and Sunday at the home of B. R. Cannon near Castleton. Mr. and Mrs. Coates have returned from Hagerstown. Mr. and Mrs, James E. Yates and guest have closed their summer home and gone to Fairfield for the (winter. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Eastham gave a delightful chestnuting party Tuesday. Mrs. J. B. Johnson spent a week or two with her parents recently.
