The Census Bureau hasn't com* pleted its statistics on education, but it estimates that this average fellow has had at least a year in high school.
Here is the way the average is arrived at:

About half of these are clear of debt, but since the average man is but 30, the census people figure he’s still paying on his*—and will be for some years.
There has not been too much of a change, on the average, since 1940, the information man said. We’re getting older. Ten years ago the average man was 28, but he also had a wife and two children.
How come the average man of today doesn’t own a television set?
The Census man said the census people had thought about that, but the census <w&s taken in April, 1960, at a time wen there were only around 5,000,000 sets. Now, he said, it’s estimated that there are more than 25,000,000 sets.
“I suppose he has one by now,” the information man said.
Since Christmas shopping has just been completed the average man is broke, and it doesn’t take any Census Bureau expert to tell that!
