Armistead Lewis
Funeral services for J. Armistead Lewis, 70, who died of a heart attack Monday, December 24, were held in Washington, D.C., Friday with interment in Mt. Olivet cemetery.
!Mr. Lewis, son of Belle Fauntleroy and Dangerfield Lewis of “Cleve,” King George county, was born in the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willis Browning, in Rappahannock.
Mr. Lewis is survived by hie wife, Mrs. E. Frances Boyd Lewis, of Rappahannock and Washington, D.C. He was the last male descendant of Betty Washington and Fielding Lewis.
Mr. Lewis was a charming host and enjoyed seeing' his friends when at “Greenfield,” his home in the county. He made a visit to Rappahannock a few days before the fatal heart attack and greeted ihis friends in Washington.
