HIAWATHA TERRY

Hiawatha Terry, highly esteemed cdloied citizen of Sperryville, who died Wednesday, December 26, at his home after a long period of declining health. Deceased, 76 years of age, was the son of the late Caroline Terry of Rappahannock County. The high regard in which he was held, was shown by the large assemblage of both white and colored friends attending the aerices which were held on Saturday afternoon from the Hopetoell Baptist church, which was conducted by the Rev. L. M. Carroll. The burial was made in the Hopewell Baptist church cemetery.

He is survived by one brother, Tony Terry of Charlestown, West Virginia, One sister, Mrs. Jennie Fitzhugh of sperryville and several nieces.
