High School Boys Win Two Baseball Games
The Rappahannock County High School baseball team won their second 'and third games of the season by walloping Warren ton 11*3 and {(topping Marshall 7*5. ~ 1st the first- game -Jackie-Sisk. held Warrenton to three singles while the iPanithers banged out 13 safeties to win the game by a wide margin. Strother (“Scooter”) Brown led the attack with a first inning home*run. ' Led by William Armentrout, who collected a home-run, 2 doubles and a single in 4 trips, the Panthers went on to win over Marshall by the score of 7-5. Strother Brown also helped the cause by banging out a triple, a double, and a single. ’Jackie Sisk was the winning pitcher, giving up 6 scattered hits and striking out six.
The leading batters for the Panthers to date are: George Pullen .451, Sonny Brown .450, William Armentrout .416, and Strother Brown .407.
