The (wedding of Miss Marie Goode, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. Frank Goode of Front Royal, (to Sfc. James Brant, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Brant of Cumberland, Maryland, took place Sunday afternoon, May 11, at Calvary Baptist church,, Washington, D. C. _•
Dr. William B. Adams performed the ring ceremony before a background of palms, snapdragons, carnations, and candlelabra. The music and 'baritone solos, “Because” and “The Lord’s Prayer” were rendered by the music director of the church.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white satin and imported lace, fashioned with pointed sleeves and a high neckline. Her veil was fingertip length and fell from a crown of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white rosebuds and lily-of-the-valley, centered with a which orchid.
Mrs. Robert Sabin of Takoma Park, Md., who was matron of honor for her twin sister, wore a gown of Salmon pink lace and net over taffeta, and carried a bouquet of roses. Miss Una Goode of Front Royal, as junior brideamaid for her sister, wore a gown of pastel green lace and net over taffeta, dnd carried a bouquet of red roses.
Andrew L. Busby of Fort Meyer, served the bridegroom as best man. Joseph C. Wiltshire of Orangc> James Rager, James Awtry, Joe La Rock, and Donald Lynch of Washington, D.C., were ushers
Immediately following the ceremony, «. reception was held in Butrail Hall of the church.
After a three weeks’ wedding trip, Sergeant and Mrs. Butt will make their , home in Washington, D. C.
Mahlon Ramey Accepts Position in /Winchester
Mahlon Ramey of Washington has accepted }a position with the George Washington Garage, Winchester, as auto salesman.
Mr. Ramey has been selling cars in Rappahannock county for 21 years and was formerly connected with Parkway Chevrolet in Front Royal where he achieved membership in the national Chevrolet honor selling organization, the 100car club.
