If there's any truth in ** Tis an iir wind that blows nobody good,” then perhaps some good can come of all the vifiting photographers and reporters. Perhaps on* of them will see that there are Angus and Hereford! heifers in the county also, and help give some publicity to the county’s fine *beef herds. A Tail Tale

Please don’t stop me if you have heard this one.

An Indian was hailed into court, charged with not paying his income tax. The Red Man asked the judge why he should pay income tax. The judge painstakingly explained that Uncle Sam needed the money so that when he, the Indian, got sick or tod old to work or got out of a job, the Great White Father would be able to send him some money to take care of him. •

A light oi understanding flashed over the Indian’s fas*. “Judge,” said he, "that just like my dog and me. He good dog. When he work much hard he come to me, bark, and say, ‘Boss, I work much hard, give me nice piece meat.’

“I take big sharp knife, cut off piece his tail and say, ‘You good dog, you work much hard, here nice juicy piece meat for you., He so dumb, he no know difference. It big laugh— he lick my band for give him piece his own tail." V : This ‘‘tale ot a talT” would indicate that this descendant of the first” Americans is a heap smarter than some of the offspring of those who usurped the land of his ancestors, because he knows that government only can hand out that which is first taken away, that all government can bestow is just a piece of what it has previously impounded.

There is a deadly parallel to this rather ludicrous story in what has been going on in America in recent years, in that all too many of the /American people have come to beCULPEPER
