Friday, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller, First Mate and Mrs. C G. Reid Jr. motored to D. C. for the day. The Reids who have been visiting relatives and friends in the county, left in thq afternoon for Brooklyn, New York, where they have an apartment. Mr. and Mrs. Miller 'returned to their home in Flint Hill.

On Wednesday Rev. and Mrs. A. Paul Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Rodes Brown visited Mrs. Rapley Shackleford, who has been quite ill at her home in the F. T. Valley.

Mrs. W. B. Kilby and Mrs. A. H. Buckner spent the weekend in Baltimore with Dr. and Mrs. Kilby and heir new daughter, Jaynett Ophelia. TSTrs. Ora Ramey, Miss Corrie Scroggins, Mrs. F. E. Compton and Mrs. Jessie Rowzie attended tne 86th session of the Charlottesville District Conference of the Methodist Church, at Culpeper Methodist Church on T hursday. “ f '

Sgt. Thomas B. Reid Jr., who has been attending school at* Fort Belvoir, returned Tuesday at Fort Jarvis, Seattle, Washington, where he is stationed.

Mr. and Mrs. Downing Wood, Miss Mary Miller Wood, and Mrs. Anne Menefee visited J. E. Keyser at the University Hospital on Tuesday evening. _
