Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Lewis Butler, 54, wife of Gaylord Butler of Sperryville, who died May 5 at Charlottesville Hospital, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Hopewell Baptist church, with Rev. L. M. Carroll officiating. Interment was in Sperryville Cemetery. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Robert, and Charles'of Sperryville; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Holly of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Vinda Glasker of Castleton, Mrs. Virginia Strother of Griffinsburg, Miss Mabel Lewis of Sperryville; one brother, Charlie Lewis of Sperryville; one aunt, Mrs. Harriet /'.lor of Sperryville; one uncle, Festus Tyler of Jonesburg, Pa., and a host of relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers were Thomas Wiggington, Walker Gordon, Reuben Aylor, Lewis Butler, Phillip Jones and Lewis (Russ) Aylor.

Members of the Women’s Circle acted as honorary pallbearers and flower bearers. .

The Anniversary of the pastor, Rev. Robert Davis, will begin 11, 12, 13, and 14 of June. Mrs. Blanche Fletcher, chairman.

The Usher Board will give a social at the Washington School, Friday, May 23, at 8 p.m.

The installation service 6f The Rappahannock Men’s and Women’s Club will be held at the church Sunday at the II o’clock service, by Rev. Davis___

The Flint Hill School will give their final play for this term “All Hail The Queen,” Friday May 23. Refreshments on sale and plenty good music.

A Weigh Ralley will be held at the Hopewell Baptist Church on Friday night May 23, at. 8 p,m. You will be entertained by taleftt from neighboring churches. Conte drte and all and help make this program a success. Refreshments on sale.

Mrs. James Roberts and daughter of New York City were recent guests of her grandmother, Mrs. Ella Dennis and other relatives. Mrs. Mabel Sprivell of Washington D. C. was a guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Fletcher recently. Dinner guests on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Fletcher were Rev. and Mrs. Robert Davis.
