MISSIONARY RALLY

A Missionary Rally was held at the Methodist church Thursday, May 15, at 7:30, when Dr. J. A. Eagle, of the Board of Missions, Methodist church of New *ork, was the guest speaker. Dr. Engle, who recently returned from a tour of the Methodist foreign mission field, gave an interesting talk on what is ’being done with the gifts sent by Virginia Methodists. Dr. J. A. Hughes, district superintendent of (JiiarlottesVille, introduced Dr. Engle.

MISSIONARY SOCIETIES

Mrs. Holmes Hall entertained the two Missionary Societies of Reynolds Memorial Baptist church Saturday at her home, ‘ Shingle .Shanty.’ There were 16 member* present. Mrs. C. E. Johnson, Jr., 'led the program from the topic/ “The First Foreign Missionaries.”

H .S.€S. MEETING • The W.S.C.S. of Washington Methodist Church met Sunday even; ing at the church with thirteen members present. Mrs. Ramey gave am interesting talk on the topic, “What Is That in Thine Hand?”. After which the members joined in “A Pledge Service for Missions.”
