E. E. Johnson spoke* to the group, citing the rarity in this day and time of a family still owning Jand continously for 200 years. The original land grant, written on sheep-skin, is in the possession of one member of the family. It is carefully deposited in a hank lock-box, but there are manp copies of it in possession of several members of the family. The Johnson Family has spread to the four corners of the nation, but one branch of the family, still bearing the name, lives on the Red Oak mountain.
As one guest stated, the dinner was “astounding.” The Johnsons, as one can easily observe, enjoy eating. Many of die ladies of the Johnson family have enviable reputation as cooks, and the men appear to have done their share of eating. A skinny Johnson will not be average, but rather the exception to prove the rule.

News was received about 3 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon that Luther Jenkins had been slightly injured in an accident
A§ Mh Jenkins Was making his return tfijjl wttii the mail from Front Royal to his home in F. T. Valley, a lime truck (driver unknown) ran into the rear of the mai/ truck and demolished it. Clyde (Mutt) Atkins and Dr. Edwin Eastham appeared on the scene. Dr. Eastham examined Mr. Jenkins and advised an x-ray of the chest. Mr. Atkins delivered the mail and carried Mr. Jenkins home. The cause of the accident is unknown hut the surmise is that faulty brakes was the cause.
