Amissville Ladies Auxiliary
Elects Officers.
On Friday, August 22, twenty-three ladies of Amissville and vicinity met to organize an auxiliary and elect officers. Those officers elected were Mrs. Sarah Jenkins, President; Mrs. Dorothy Hackley, Vice President ; Mrs. Carolyn Tear, Secretary; Mrs. Ruby Green, Treasurer! Mrs. Charles Compton, Chaplain.
The meetings Wt&rf* held the second Wednesday of each month at the temporary fire house. All ladies of Amissville and vicinity are cordially invited to attend the next meeting on September 10.
Tom Massie Injured In Fall
Tom Massie and Johnny Jenkins decided to take a ride on one of C. J. Miller’s horses on Thursday afternoon, when they saw her tied to the fence ready for a, mount. It was decided that Tom would take the first ride which he did. On his return he found that Johnny had decided not to^ take his so Tom started on his second venture, which proved, well not as enjoyable as the first. The details are not known hut Tom got a spill and had to be rushed to Warren Memorial Hospital by Mrs. Massie arid Dr. Edwin Eastham. At the hospital he was exraved and several stitches taken. Tom returned home on Saturday and is doing nicely.
