Rev. Barrett, choir and congregation will conduct services at the First Baptist Church, Washington, September 7, at 11 a.m.

Weekend guests over Labor Day of Mrs. Harriet Aylor and Richard Holmes were Mrs. Bennie Brown, Mrs. Agnes Fish, Mrs. Virginia Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Stutson Brown and family of New Jersey. While here they motored over the drive and visited the Luray Caverns.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Clanagan and son of Braddock, Pennsylvania were Sunday dinner guests of their unde and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Clanagan.

James Venie of Braddock, Penn, was a weekend guest of his sister, Mrs. Lillie Hughes.

Mr. and Mrs. Lillie Glasker, Mrs. Henry Glasker, Mrs. Frances Freeman and Lesly Green were in Charlottesville on Friday to visit Ellis Jr., who is a patient in the hospital and is doing nicely. •

Mr. and Mrs. Fiddie Carpter of Rochester, New York, who has been on a visit to their mother, Mrs. Henry Glasker, returned to their home on Saturday morning.

The News regrets the error made in the signing of Mrs. Margaret Hunter’s name and not the Rev. R.C. Davis in the note of ~ appreciation thanking -Mrs. Blanche Fletcher, Mrs. Margaret Hunter and their many white friends, who helped to make the dinner a success which was served in Mrs. Fletcher’s home.

Charles R. Hunter, who has recently accepted a positjpn in Washington, D.C., spent the weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Hunten

Mrs. Edna M. Stafford, music teacher from Mt. Holly, N.J./was a weekend guest in the homes of Mrs. R. Russell and Mrs. F. Jackson.

Bobby, Bernard and Ronald Harris returned with their father, J. E. Harris to their home in Washington, D. C. after spending a few weeks with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. R Russell.
