The Parent-Teachers Association at Flint Hill is scheduling their meeting Tuesday night, January 6, to hear reports and make some decisions on improving their school.
The Flint Hill meeting is of interest to everyone in the county, not only because it involves education of future citizens, but because thhe Flint Hill folks are advocating the construction of a consolidated elementary school for their end of the county.
No definite decisions can be made at this time, and that fact is known. All building, and planned building, has to meet requirements and approval of State authorities, and no definite State approvals of anything in the education line will be forthcoming until after some certain Supreme Court decisions are announced in the Spring. The decisions of the Supreme Court may evoke radical changes — or they may not — no one knows.
Meanwhile, the people of Flint Hill and vicinity- have a strong opinion: their school is inadequate, and they want something done about it. They fear that it will be difficult in future years to get teachers, and they don’t blame teachers for going where school buildings are attractive and wellarranged to suit teaching needs. The parents realize that the day of teachers being missionaries and martyrs is becoming a bit out-ofdate.
