Mr. and Mrs. James M. Thornton, who spent the holidays in Grundy with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Meade, arrived Monday for a few days visit with relatives here before returning 10 Georgia.

Mr. and Mrs. yJ.~ft«tdes Brown Jr. had as their dinner guests on Friday, Mr. and Mrs. J. Rodes Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Jack.Bgown, Rev. and Mrs. A. Paul Thompson and baby. On Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Lee Thornton were hosts to a dinner party wh'ch included Mr. and Mrs. J. Rodes Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Brown, Rev. and Mrs. Paul Thompson and daughter.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Schaefer entertained at a family dinner on Christmas Day having as their guests Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Johnson, J. B. Johnson Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Payne and their son, Joe Gordon of Madison. Again on Saturday evening the Schaefers were hosts to a dinner party when their guests were Mrr and Mrs. W. I. Henson of Front Royal and their son-in-law and daughter, who are spending the holiday with them, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney L. Rogers, and two children, Burton and Slyvia Rogers of New Mexico, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph B. Johnson. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Schaefer and two children, Edna Yates and Susan, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Johnson were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Payne in Madison.

Mrs. Virginia M. Lewis, Miss Ruth Mencfee, Mrs. James M. Yates, Fielding Lewis and George Efferen were guests for Christmas Day of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Matthews in Front Royal. M*su Lewis was an overnight guest on Friday of Miss Irene Keyser.

Week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. V. Chapman were Mr. and Mrs. D. V. Chapman Jr. and son, David V. Chapman III of Richmond and Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Chapman and family of Arlington.
