On January 22, Alexander McKay Smith, who is the Virginia District Representative, hunted with the club and found that the Rappahannock Hunt had complied with all requirements.
Virginia has the largest number of Hunt Clubs in North America. There are twenty-one clubs, sixteen recognized, three registered and two inactive. Pennsylvania is next with twenty, followed by New York with ten and Maryland with eight
One of the most interesting features of this year’s meeting was a discussion of questions irjp pertaining to all phases of fMdftmting, which were sent out to 109 hunts. Acceding to the Chronicle, 78 of these were returned.
The Rappahannock Hunt is the only hunt that sponsors a hunt race, and one of the few hunts that has a junior race and a draft horse race. It will undoubtedly please the men to know that in the majority of hunts they outnumber the women.

Met With Mrs. Turner
The Rappahannock Garden club met in the home of Mrs. L. J. Turner on January 28.
Mrs. R. V. Snead gave a very interesting lecture on “The Use of Broad Leaf Evergreens in Landscaping.”
The prizes went to the following ladies:
Arrangement, Mrs. George Taylor first, Mrs. L. J. Turner second, *and Mrs. W. R. Williams third; Mrs. C. R. Hite won first in the horticulture display.
The February meeting of the club will be held with Mrs. James Ml Settle on February 28.
Mrs. Beecher, landscape architect from VPI will give a lecture and demonstration on pruning.
The date of this meeting has been changed because of the change in Mrs. Beecher’s schedule. - The exhibit will consist of forced branches in antique containers.
