RJ.VJ). Answers Two Calls

In the past ^wo weeks the Rappahannock Volunteer Fire Department has answered two calls. Both of them could have been disastrous, but the last one was most serious.

Around seven o'clock Monday, Clarence Fincham, because it seemed to be such a beautiufl, calm day, decided to set fire to some brush and rubbish on his “Toll Gate" property. At first the idea worked beautifully, so Mrv Fincham continued to let the fire spread gently, but around 11 o'clock a keen wind sprang up and the fire began to spread. In a §hort time be realized that he alone was helpless, so he called the Fire Department Within a few minutes the members including a group of high school boys appeared on the scene and within half an hour the fire was conquered. Great praise was acclaimed the boys by the older members of the company. ^
