Franchise to Gonndl
A. McDaniel, of the Northern Virginia Power Co., was present at the town council meeting Tuesday evening to discuss the renewal of fran- - chise for the town of Washington. “The word ‘franchise* is misleading,” Mr. McDaniel explained, “since many people consider it granting an ‘exclusive right’ for a long period of time to a company.” Mr. McDaniel then stated that a franchise was no more than giving a company a right to set up poles-on property of the town.
