The first beginners sewing class will be held Thursday, Feb. 18 at 1:30 p.m in the fire hall. The topic will be selecting of fabrics and patterns for individual figures.
Flint Hill 4-H met Monday fqr regular meeting. Doris Ann Atkins was appointed program chairman. Project work was the presing of rfoolens and making of aprons. .
Peachy Lyne, president at Sperryville I 4-H, presided on Tuesday. Nancy Brown read devotions. As money making scheme, the club plans to sell Southern Planter. Program chairman, Mary Lou Davis, read a history of Valentine Day. Protect work was the completion of head * scarfs fay the girls. ~ * .
Annie Dodson opened Sperryville II with a well planned devotional. Finance committee reported money making schemes and decided to sell the Southern Planter. Carolyn Turner, program chairman, gave a talk on important events in February. Project work was on pressing of woolens. Sperryville III 4-H met Thursday wth Betty Ssk presiding. Holly Updike, program chairman, gave a reading. The girls showed their pin cushions and began to make handkerchiefs. > ' / Washington Sr. 4-H met Thursday morning. Betty Rutherford told of girls basketball game at Boyce. Lelia Gentry reported on progress made of 4-H paper committee. Also report was given on banquet served to “100 Bushel Com Club.” Project work included marking of darts, etc. Amissvillc club met Friday evening. This group is planning a bake sale to raise money. Project work was a demonstration bn the making of milk drinks. Melvin Williams was elected vice president at Forest Grove 4-H meeting. The members decided to sell subscriptions to the Southern Planter as money making activity. The girls began to mhke aprons during project work. Washington H.D. club seemed very interested in talk on Flowers for Home grounds. Mrs. Clarence Gough and Mrs. Grace Reid will be working especially on their' home grounds this spring.
