(With Washington Baptist Church faying the corner-stone in their new Sunday school rooms Sunday, May 17, the history of the church has been revised and brought up to date.)

The Washington Baptist Church is located in Washington, Rappahannock county, Virginia. Until May, 1952 it was a church field composed of four or more churches, since then the field has been consolidated and Flint Hill and Washington now comprise a two-church field- At Washington services are held the second and third Sunday mornings, and the first and fourth Sunday nights. In this way there are services in the church every Sunday except die fifth Sunday when the Methodists hold services.

The church is built on a lot given by Miss Mary Long, and another lot bought from her for $100. The church is a brick two-story structure built in 1873 as a branch of Mt. Salem church. It was paid by some members from Mb Salem, and members of the Masonic Lodge. The Masons own the
