pageant fifty years of Home Demonstration work. During this pageant Mrs. Gilbert Updike presented Pennies for Friendship collected in all H.D. clubs in the county. A. lady from Madison welcomed the group and Mrs. George Taylor gave the response for the group. Time keeper for the day was Mrs. Jessie Rowzie. The ladies attending were Mrs. Clarence Gough, Mrs. Jessie Rowzie, Mrs. Grace Weaver, Mrs. Ada Updike, Mrs. Carl Carpenter, Mrs. Will Walter, Miss Nellie Johnson, 'Miss Mattie Rector, Mrs. Geo. Taylor, Mrs. McClaskey, Mrs. Annie Bruce; Mrs. Harry Rutherford, Hrs. Jean Gallihugh, Mrs. C. R. Hite, and M rs. Gilbert Weakley. Mrs. Jessie Rowzie and-the agent gave a radio talk Thursday in observance of National Home Demonstration Week. The first week of May 3 through the 9th again has been marked for national recognition of home demonstration women, of their work and their leadership. “Today’s Home Builds Tomorrow’s World.” is the theme for the week. It also is die thought on which many of the programs and activities of the clubs are planned. But the members Uve in today's world and they realize that their dividuals and as groups to develop families do, too. They work as inpeace and calm in conduct and in thought, so htat they and their families can live in today’s confusion without (being confused. Women who are members of home demonstration dubs, their families, communities and our nation are rfiher because of the values that come from studying and working together.
