The ladies can take full credit for engineering the piece of improvement. They thought of it; they asked the owner to let them have the use of the property; they got someone to donate the equipment; and they are keeping the lawn motoed and clean.
Of course, the story has a few unhappy moments, but these are expected. A couple of weeks ago, some half-grown young people were swinging in the baby-children’s swings and had to be asked to not break up the equipment. .They got mad, of. course, but such little affairs occur with public property; someone will sooner or later abuse the privileges.
Taking it all and all, it has been one of the most orderly and happy playgrounds to be found. During the summer you will find a neighboring school teacher voluntarily on hand to keep little tykes in order.
Definitely, the playground is a good _thing. The ladies of the town council should be able to take any amount of teasing and fun-poking that comes their way; the satisfaction derived from this excellent job should compensate them well for the unhappy moments that come with their job.
