forget “Operation Big Stretch” will be held at the Courthouse at 1:30 o’clock next Tuesday afternoon (November 24). Extension Specialists have cancelled “business as usual” to bring information to Rappahannock farmers on economical ways and means of overcoming present and future feed supply shortage brought on by the drought. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to learn how you can help yourself to overcome the present feed shortage. Everyone with livestock to be wintered will be welcomed. „ GET SOIL SAMPLES IN EARLY—It is the wise farmer who basis his liming and fertilization program on soil tests. Since this is the non rush soil testing period by technicians at Blacksburg, farmers are urged to bring their samples in now. Also by finding out what the soil needs now in the way of liming materials the farmer can apply the amount indicated by test in time for chemical reaction to take place that will correct soil conditions necessary for profitable production of clovers and alfalfa. Farmers who have had soil analysis made recently or indicated they will do so are; M. L. Thompson, Viewtown; Judge R. V. Snead, Washington; C. M. Ramey, Slate Mills; A. C. Hensley, Castleton; and O. E. Welch, Flint Hill.
