A' new manual for county super* visors, designed to foster understanding of County Government m Virginia, lias been drafted by Jo Desha Lucas, assistant professor” of law, and dean of students of the University of Chicago Law School. This manual will meet the pratical need of supervisors by affording a general understanding of the powers and duties of a supervisor as granted him by the Commonwealth.
Mr. Lucas prepared the first draft of the manual in the summer of 195b and its subsequent revisions. The manual has been received enthusiastically by state officials and local governmental officials through outthe state. Mr. Lucas whose work is receiving wide acclaim, is the nephew of Mrs. W. F. Moffett of Washing, ton. Rappahannock proudly recalls his numerous visits to the county as a * youth.
