Pitchers Sisk and Settle led the Rappahannock Fire Chiefs to a 7-6 victory over the Flint Hill A. C.’s in a close, well-played game on the Flint Hill diamond Sunday afternoon. Osborne Mills, A.C.’s, record of three hits out of five times alt bat, gave him the batting honors while “Sissy” Corder of the A.C.*s and Sonny Brown of the Chiefs with two runs apiece, crossed home plate for the most runs. -7From
the beginning of the game the Chiefs surged ahead, scoring 2 runs in the first inning; 1 in second; 1 in third; 2 in fourth; and 1 in the fifth. The A. C.’s brought in their first run in the third and had their best inning of the game in the fourth with three runs driven in; 2 more came in during the fifth and sixth innings. McGarthy was the losing pitcher.
