Many of our brainy people say an economy of plenty is much better than economy of scarcity and far Ibe it from rile to question that belief. No doubt most Americans, whether they have Been outside of all U. S. A. or not will agree that living conditions here are much better than in some of the famine stricken countries of the world. For sure HI never forget seeing six men dive for a slice of white bread into a barge filled with garbage from the Queen Mary while enroute to Australia during World War II. I also learned during World War II how delicious a slice of dry bread really is but not as positively as those men at Cape Town. Never had I seen such a demonstration of hunger before, haven’t since and hope I never will.
Both economies create problems however, and the problem of our abundance is Where Will Our Farmers Store the 1954 Small Grain Crop? Here is the way I got the picture of~ the problem and what the individual farmer can do to help himself.
