A motion was made by Supervisor Wood to discontinue the program of allowing money for “investigating and travel from,” afforded a commonwealth > attorney. This discussion was introduced when a bill was presented by Commonwealth Attorney W. F. Moffett for the above mentioned expenses. Several of the supervisors seemed to have interpreted the salary of the commonwealth attorney to include such expenses. However, it was stated that the practice of alloting this money had been .practice^ ^ over a period of years. The discussion was tabled until the next meet-'ing of the supervisors when the commonwealth attorney will quote the law on such a practice, and when and why it was adopted in Rappahannock. , Early in die meeting, A. C. Latham made a motion “to appoint road viewers, one person from each dis- j trict, to view all the -proposed”roads in the county, with not less than three to act.” Thus instead of being drawn only from the interested district, the committee would be drawn from the county, allowing a more overall look at the situation. P. D. Coldiron, Resident Engineer, * presented the tentative road budget for the 1954-1955 year. It was discussed and approved. Coldiron reported that the road viewers on the committee appointed to view the section of route 630, had sent in a negative report on the matter of including it in the secondary system. The reason presumed was that there were too few persons making permanent residence in this vicinity., No action could be taken on this report as it had not been officially signed by the viewers. It was decided to “do what was necessary towards guaranteeing the 30 foot right of way at the Amissville School. This would be added to the resolution discussed in a previous meeting. Roland Welch was awarded a sheep claim of $20; and George Devers, one of $50. The sheep belonging to the— two men had seemingly been attacked by the same dogs.
