The 1954 Farm Machinery and Repair Gass of Carver Regional High School was a tremendous success. The enrollment of 33 members was the largest that we Jhave'had since the class started in 1949. A total of 142 projects were constructed, repaired, overhauled or rebuilted. The class was held for three hours each Monday night; commencing on January 5th., and terminating on April 20. At the beginning of each class a lesson was taught relative to home farm mechanics for the purpose of better equipping farmers to care for and perform minor repairs.

The O. R. Johnson NFA Chapter is making preparation for the State /Convention which will 'be held at Virginia State College in June. Clifton Hill Jr., Thomas Carpenter and Adelbert Triplett have already been elected to receive the Modern Farmer Degree and several boys will be competing for FFA Foundation Awards. The livestock and forestry judging teams have not been selected. At the present time the boys are fighting for the top three positions on the local level in order that they may compete on the state level.
