^ Teachers, parents, 4-H Inembers and their, friends were present at the March P. T. A. meeting in Flint Hill School on March 29, Special emphasis was placed on 4-H Club work as a late but force* ful salute to National 4-H Club Week. (March 5-12). \\ ; Mrs. Raymond Sutphin, president opened the meeting with all those present singing, "America the Beautiful.” Mrs. W. A. Gentry led in prayer, after which the business meeting was held. Eddie Sutphin, president of the Flint Hill 4-H club, was master of ceremonies and told the purpose of the program which followed. Mrs. , Gentry led the group in singing, j “4-H Trail,” then Jean Lillard ! spoke on the purpose of National 4-H Week, which is to give recog- ,, nition to all the work done by club members, volunteer leaders extension agents and friends of the clubs. ; j
Paula Miller of Washington club presented the goals of the! county council and told how they were carried out last year.
The electric project was represented by Ribble Blajsdell, who gave an excellent demonstration on . repair of an electric extension cord, replacing a worn plug.
Some colored slides (taken in Chicago at the National 4-H Congress in November) failed to arrive, but Lelia Gentry showed pictures and souvenirs collected when she attended this Congress, and told how she won the trip, giving some of the highlights of the week. ■
“Opportunities for Parents in Working With 4-H Club members’*' was the topic discussed by Mrs. Carson Lillard. She pointed out the advantage in creating closer family ties and cooperation in the home through 4-H projects.
The meeting closed with a song.
