A missville A thletics Get In Shape For 21-Game Schedule
The baseball team of the Amissville Junior Volunteer Firemen, the Amissville Athletics, as they like to be called, is filled wjth enthusiasm now that they have been officially entered in the Northern Virginia League. They realize that the competition is going to be difficult but the determination is mounting that they give a good* account of themselves' each and every game.
Support from Amissville and surrounding communities has been excellent. Donations for the new white and green uniforms have been received from Holmes Radio and T.V. of Warrenton, as well as Frost Diner, Western Auto Stores, The Quarles Oil Co., the "Cash and Carry Market, Smith Oldsmobile, H. C. Brown Amoco Station, and Clevenger’s Restaurant. Pepsi-Cola, Nehi Bottling Co., C. C. Risdon, C. M. M. Green, Culpeper Crtamery, Bel Air R es t a vj r a n t, Lorn-Bar-Dy Lunch Room, Mountain View Restaurant, Barron’s.Tire Service, Rappahannock News and “A Friend” are other contributors.
Manager Allen Poe and his coaches Bert Trainum, Braxton James and Julian James report that turnout at practice has been excellent and that with continued good week end weather and some helpful hints from part-time coach Ralph Rowzie, the team should be in good shape for the opening of their twenty-one game schedule on April 24i
