Emerson G. Brown
Emerson Good low Brown, former citizen of Sperryville, died Monday, April 4th in Alexandria, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George W. Tidier, where he had made his home for several years following the death of his wife.
A funeral service was held Thursday, April 7, at 1 p.m. from the Geest Funeral Home Chapel with interment in the Sperryville Cemetery. The Reverend George W. BowmSh, III conducted the last rites.
Mr. Brown, 85 years of age, was the son of the late Henry D. and Susan; Virginia Brown of Rappahannock.
Surviving are seven daughters: Mrs. Chester Weaver and Mrs. Woodrow Bennett of Boston; Mrs. Sylvan Carver of Culpeper; Mrs. George Tidier, Mrs. John J. Cassey and Mrs. Hager Brown of Alexandria; and Mrs. John J. Allen of Bayonne, New Jersey.
Active pallbearers at the burial were Jack Weaver, Charlie Cloud, Eddie Gore, Charlie Butler, Henry Kuhn, and Frank Brown.
