The U. S. average price received by farmers in mid-April was 29.1c as compared with 33.1c last April. On the basis of hatchings and eggs in incubators, the production of heavy breed turkeys this year may be as much as 9% below last year, while the production of light breeds may be 25% to 35% below 1954.
To make things even better, storage stocks are likely to be well, below last year when the 1955 marketing season begins.
