Rappahannock farmers product ing as much as fifteen (15) acres of wheat are reminded that the Referendum on Marketing Quotas will be held Saturday, June 25th. Polls will be open at the local ASC office in the Rappahannock National Bank Building from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Forty-one wool producers marketed 8,822 lbs. of wool through the 1955 pool held last week at Washington Cooperative Packing House as compared to 7,847 lbs. pooled in 1954 by 40 producers. John R. DeBergh lead all other consignments by having a total \>f 802 lbs. net wool followed by C. R. Wire 725 lbs, Leeway Farm, 665 and Freezeland Orchard Co. with 653 lbs. Can’t say for sure but feel Mr. Wire had the highest fleece average as he only has about 80 ewes which figures about 9 lbs. per ewe. How about it? Since we don’t have the total number of sheep shorn by each producer, it would be interested to know just who had the highest fleece average.
