The Alexandria officp of the Social Security Administration has moved to its new location at 11? S. Washington Street, according to an announcement by Robert E. Parsons, assistant manager, who has charge of -the Washington area.

Parsons said that, crowded conditions at the old address as a result of additional personnel and the increased number of people visiting the office to file claims and get information about social security, made it necessary to.get into larger quarters. The 1954 amendments to the social security law are responsible for this stepped-up activity in the district office. In RaDoahannock County at the end of 1954, moTC than 200 persons were receiving approximately $7,000 in monthly social security payments.
