Supervisors Approve Addition To Carver High School
The Board of Supervisors in their July meeting held Wednesday morning agreed unanimously on the addition iof 2 temporary steel classrooms j to the George Washington Carver High School. The addition, necessitated by an estimated 70 pupils increase in fall; enrollment, was recommended by the Regional Control Board for the consolidated school. Q. D. Gasque brought the proposal of the Board before the supervisors. He* stated that the school was originally planned 500 pupils. Last j year a 4-room addition took care of 125 additional pupils or a total of 625. pupils. Learning of a prospective 700 enrollment'the Regional Board concurred and agreed upon the addition as the best Solution to the . situation. The addition, costing approximately $8,000, will be taken care of hy funds already in the Regional funds i therefore the building will not require the raising of funds by die member counties. I v
Superintendent Gasque reported that die Front Royal, Culpeper, Orange Boards of Supervisors had approved the proposal, (the Madison Board had not convened). 1
