Athletics Trounce The Plains, 20-7

v The Amissville Athletics chalked up a onesided win tover The Plains, Sunday, as they trotted around the scorched field to score 20 runs while their opponents could only muster a feeble 7 Tuns.

Silas (Junior) Martin pitched J 5 innings for' the Athletics and was credited with the win. He allowed 5 hits and 5 runs. Julian James relieved Martin and 1 finished the game giving up only 4 hits and 2 runs.

Willie Cunningham led the hard hitting Athletics by connecting for 3 of the 14 hits and driving in 5 runs. Buddy Cropp, Foster Cornwell and Julian James each got 2 hits.

The Plains used 4 pitchers with Fletcher, the losing pitcher, giving up 7 runs in the first 2 innings. The Athletics will play Upperville at Upperville this Sunday at, 2:30. Support your county team by following them to the away games, as well as cheering them to victory in the home games.
