ANNOUNCEMENT Certain stories have been spread throughout the County about me regarding transportation of colored school children. The stories are political propaganda. They are not true. , The law in Virginia at that time—more than five years ago—called for separate but equal facilities. Separate schools, separate buses. I felt that every child — mine included — should have some means of transportation to and from school. - The attempt to bring racial issues into the campaign by distorting the truth will not fool many people.
