LOU KEYSER CIRCLE HONORS MRS. UPDIKE WITH SURPRISE SHOWER
The Lou Kryser Circle of the Washington Baptist Church honored Mrs. V. R. Updike at a surprise shower at their July meeting held Friday night at Mrs. Updike’s new home.
Miss Mary Miller Wood, president of the Circle, told of her 9 months as an exchange teacher in Vancouver.
Among those who were present were Mrs. C. R. Racer, Mrs. Willie Payne, Miss Gladys Payne, Miss Wood and Mrs. C. G. Reid.
A CHALLENGE
A. C. Latham of Amissville has thrown down the gauntlet on a pretty safe challenge—on his home place he got 47 V3 bushels of wheat (government measure) per acre. He challenges Rappahannock Farmers to beat this record. 'The state average is 17 bushels per acre.
