Manassas Defeats Amissville, 12 to 4;
Martin Injures Knee
The Amissville Athletics lost to Manassas, Sunday at Amissville, 12-4, Mdnassas took advantage of every opportunity they got with clutch hitting and some daring base running. Their big inning was the ninth when they Scored four runs to seal the victory.
Walls was the winning pitcher as he went all the way forj Manassas.
Silas Martin started for Amissville and was relieved in the ninth by Hartley.
Pittman led the Manassas batting with three hits. I}. Martin, S. Martin and John James got 2 hits each for Amissville.
It is feared that Amissville will be without the service of one of their best players, Silas Martin, for a couple of weeks, as he was hit on the knee by a batted ball, and suffered a chipped bone.
We wish him a fast recovery and hope the injury is not too serious.
